Sex and contraception-Attack pill

Attack pill

The birth control pill is an emergency contraceptive that can be used when other contraception has not worked, or after unprotected intercourse. The purpose of the birth control pill is to prevent unwanted pregnancy, and must be taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse. Preferably within 12 hours and no later than 3 days after sex. It is important to remember that a contraceptive pill does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, and should not replace other contraception or be used as a contraceptive in itself.
