Wrinkles

As you get older, the skin will get more wrinkles and lose some of its "young" elasticity. Much of what happens is inevitable and determined by nature itself. But with good and correct skin care, you can retain much of your skin's glow and resilience for longer than you would otherwise.

Briefly about wrinkles

The very first lines often appear already in the late 20s and are often called mimic wrinkles. These are the smile lines that appear around the eyes, on the forehead and at the corners of the mouth.

At the age of 40, the skin is usually thinner and less elastic, and wrinkles become more prominent. Men often get wrinkles a little later than women, but the wrinkles tend to be deeper. This is because men have thicker skin and higher sebum production than women.

Causes of wrinkles

Heredity and age are the most important reasons why we get wrinkles. Skin type is determined by our genes. As we get older, the production of the fibers collagen and elastin, which help ensure a resilient and firm skin, decreases. The skin's content of hyaluronic acid, which binds moisture, is reduced and the skin loses some of its volume and wrinkles become deeper.

Smoking and sunbathing are important factors that contribute to wrinkles developing more quickly.

Good advice

  • Avoid excessive sunbathing.

  • Ensure good sun protection and always use sunscreen when you are out in the sun.

  • Avoid smoke.

  • Drink plenty of water.

  • Cleanse the skin carefully morning and evening. It gives a better effect of your face cream.

  • Use a good moisturizer and preferably a separate night cream in the evening.

Anti-wrinkle creams (anti-age)

  • Anti-wrinkle creams (anti age) are available in both light and rich (fatter) versions.

  • The night creams for anti aging are often the richest and contain more active substances.

  • Some anti-wrinkle creams contain light-reflecting pigments that make wrinkles less visible.

  • Serum is a concentrate of active substances and can be used under the day cream.

  • There are special eye products that are adapted to the sensitive skin around the eyes
