Sleeping aids

Many Norwegians struggle with sleep and experience problems related to sleep, such as falling asleep for a long time, waking up at night, waking up early in the morning and the feeling of not being rested. For mild and moderate sleep problems, self-treatment with over-the-counter products and sleeping aids can be helpful. These are often plant-based medicines that have a sleep-promoting, calming and stress-relieving effect, and are often used for symptoms such as restlessness, sleep and falling asleep problems. Melatonin is now also available without a prescription. Melatonin is a hormone that is produced in the body when it is dark outside and can be used for jet lag or sleep problems.
