D-mannose, the main ingredient in D-mannURO, is a sugar that helps prevent and relieve symptoms of urinary tract and bladder infections. The most common cause of urinary tract infections is the bacterium Escherichia coli. It is believed that more than 90% of all uncomplicated urinary tract infections are caused by this bacterium, and in 44% of patients, the infection recurs within 12 months. The infection is caused by uropathogenic strains of E. coli that have the ability to bind to cells in the bladder wall.
D-mannose works by binding to bacterial cells, thus preventing them from binding to cells in the bladder wall, thereby facilitating their excretion in the urine.
D-mannURO Cranberry is intended for:
- alleviation of urinary tract infections
- prevention of urinary tract infections when there is a risk of their development in women, the elderly, people with compromised immune systems, due to the use of contraceptives, after urinary tract surgery, catheters, etc.
