Cod liver oil and omega-3

Supplementation of cod liver oil and omega-3 is beneficial for the heart, blood vessels, joints and for a favorable cholesterol level. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that the body cannot make itself, and we must therefore supply this through the diet. Omega-3 from fish and other seafood contains eicopentanoic acid (EPA) and doxahexaenoic acid (DHA), and are the two omega-3 fatty acids that are best documented. They contribute to the maintenance of normal heart and brain function, maintenance of normal vision and are beneficial for the joints and cholesterol. If you eat less than 200 grams of fish a week, it is recommended to take supplements of cod liver oil or omega-3.
