Make-up for impure skin

Impure skin

Pimples and acne occur if a sebaceous gland becomes blocked. When sebum builds up below the gland, it can lead to a local inflammation of the skin, i.e. a pimple. Depending on how deep down in the sebaceous gland (or hair follicle) such inflammation occurs, you can get everything from small red pimples to larger and deeper pimples.

  • Oily skin is more prone to breakouts than dry skin.

  • Hormonal changes can cause acne.

  • Stress can cause acne.

  • Excessive sunbathing can lead to acne.

  • Make-up or skin care products that cover the pores can lead to pimples.

  • Failure to clean the skin can contribute to acne.

Skin care routine for impure skin

Clean the skin thoroughly. Feel free to use an oil-based cleanser first, as these are most effective at dissolving make-up, grease and impurities on the skin. You can then use a water-based cleaner to remove the residue. A good cleansing routine forms the basis for a good make-up result. See our cleaning products here.Feel free to use a peeling approx. 2 times a week to remove dead skin cells and dirt from the skin. If you have inflamed pimples, you should avoid peeling with scrubbing grains, but stick to chemical peeling. The scrub grains can lead to further irritation of the skin.Remember moisturizer! Oily skin also needs moisture, and can become dehydrated. Avoiding moisturizers can make the pain worse, as the skin will overcompensate to produce more sebum. Use light moisturizers that are non-comedogenic (don't clog pores). Mattifying moisturizer is good if you often get shiny during the day. Avoid mineral oils in face creams, this can clog the pores. Green-toned base or moisturizer can neutralize redness that can easily occur in irritated skin with acne.
