Abugnost COC

The COC TEST test strip is a rapid one-step immunochromatographic test for the qualitative determination of the presence of the cocaine metabolite, benzoylecgonine, in human urine at a limit concentration of 300 ng/ml (cut-off concentration).

The test result shows only a qualitative, preliminary assessment. To confirm the results of the analysis, it is recommended to use an alternative chemical method. Urine analysis with gas chromatography or mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is exemplary. Clinical or professional treatment of each individual test is recommended, especially if the result is positive.

The COC TEST test strip is a rapid immunochromatographic test based on the immunological principle of competitive binding of antibodies between drug conjugates and the drug itself, which is easily present in the urine sample.
The test plate contains a strip with a membrane, on which the benzoylecgonine conjugates are applied during the production process and permanently bound to the test area in the form of a line (the place on the plate is marked with T).

In the lower part of the strip, which is embedded in the plate, in the area for dripping the sample (S), there are red conjugates, which represent antibenzoylecgonine antibodies, bound to colloidal gold. Soluble conjugates are not bound to the membrane and during testing, the urine sample carries them due to the action of capillary forces across the membrane towards the other part of the strip. During testing, the urine sample travels according to the capillary effect principle.

If benzoylecgonine is present in the test urine sample in a concentration below 300 ng/ml, but not at all, it will not fill the simple binding sites of anti-benzoylecgonine antibodies on red colloidal particles. These antibodies will therefore bind to the benzoylecgonine conjugates, strung on the test surface area in the form of a line. This binding causes the line in the test window (T) to turn red. The red line is not displayed if the concentration of benzoylecgonine in the urine sample is equal to but above 300 ng/ml, because benzoylecgonine occupies all the binding sites on the red, colloidal gold-conjugated antibodies and there are no more free sites for binding with benzoylecgonine conjugates in the test area (T ).
