Auridol ear drops 7g relieve pain and itching of the external ear canal and help treat ear infections.
The action is based on the osmotic properties of glycerol. The main component of Auridol is glycerol. Glycerol has two basic characteristics that are important for its use in ear drops i) the oily consistency of glycerol - allows gentle adhesion of glycerol to the skin at the site of application and is responsible for its protective properties i) the hygroscopicity of glycerol - glycerol applied locally removes water from swollen tissue (osmotic effect) thus reducing swelling and thus relieving ear pain. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, supports the basic effect of glycerol and additionally contributes to relieving ear pain.
